Frequently asked questions

Full list: FAQ

What does the Czech vignette cost?

The cheapest start is the 1-day vignette for 375 CZK (~15 €). Available periods: 1 day, 10 days, 30 days and a year (3080 CZK). We convert the EUR value as a guide.

Is this a government website?

No. We are an independent service that registers the vignette in the name and on behalf of the buyer in the official system. The price includes the road toll and order handling. The official system is edalnice.gov.cz. Travelling further? Buy vignettes on our sister sites: Slovakia — e-znamka.org, Hungary — e-matrica.org, Slovenia — e-vinjeta.org, Romania — e-rovinieta.org, Bulgaria — bg-vineta.org.

How quickly is the vignette active after purchase?

We register the vignette in the official system right after payment — the confirmation and vignette details reach you by email usually within 2–3 minutes. You can choose the start date in advance; if it is more than 30 days away, we register the vignette automatically about 30 days before the start.

What happens without a vignette?

Cameras on toll gantries scan plates around the clock. On-the-spot fine in the Czech Republic: up to 5,000 CZK. Administrative penalty: up to 20,000 CZK (~810 €). Notices are delivered by post across the EU (CBE system).

Does a motorcycle need a vignette?

No. In the Czech Republic motorcycles are unconditionally exempt from the vignette requirement. For every other vehicle up to 3.5 t (car, SUV, van, motorhome) you need a vignette.

Do you need a vignette in the Czech Republic?

Yes. On Czech motorways (marked with the letter D, e.g. D1 Prague–Brno–Ostrava or the D0 Prague ring) an electronic vignette is mandatory for vehicles up to 3.5 t. National and city roads are free, but most transit routes through the Czech Republic run on tolled motorways anyway. Motorcycles are exempt. Without a valid vignette you risk a fine of up to 20,000 CZK — cameras on the gantries scan number plates 24/7.

Where and how do I buy a Czech vignette?

You buy the Czech vignette online here in 2 minutes: choose the period (1 day, 10 days, 30 days or 1 year), enter your registration number and email, then pay — card, Google Pay or Apple Pay. We register the vignette in the official system and you receive the confirmation by email usually within 2–3 minutes of payment. No account, no sticker.
